This is the first major project for the house. When we first moved in, the bathroom looked like
this, not only was it scary but the tub wasn't working. It wasn't a functional bathroom. It nominated itself as the first major project without objections.I think the hardest part of remodeling the bathroom hasn't been the demolition of the original plaster and lathe, but rather getting rid of the debris once we tore it down. We carted off 842 lbs. of plaster to the dump. It was reasonably priced at $42 for the whole load, but that was just the plaster.Luckily there is a wood recyling center not far from the house
and they take wood with nails in it. $15 a load. Thank goodness! The tub is still in the bathroom. It's cast iron and I haven't been eating my spinach lately.
